Graphic Identity: Boise State University’s Community Impact Program

Role: Graphic designer, illustrator

Boise State University’s Community Impact Program (CIP) needed a new graphic identity to set them apart from the rest of the university’s brand, but still had to maintain the university-wide brand standards. The best way to give them a unique visual identity was to give them distinguishable visual elements and assets.

CIP aims to extend Boise State’s educational opportunities to prospective students in rural Idaho communities. By providing online entrepreneurial education, the program empowers students to make a positive impact in their hometowns while allowing them to remain within their local communities.

This context directed my design decisions, like creating a textured photographic background of wheat to represent the farmlands in the rural parts of Idaho, as well as the design of the foothills that can be seen in many of Idaho’s remote communities.
